Ivan Grech releases debut solo album Victory Street

16 April 2026 · Press release · Special live concert announced for 8 May

Ivan Grech today announces the release of his debut solo album, Victory Street, now available across all major digital platforms.

Following a long-standing career as frontman and songwriter of Winter Moods, Victory Street marks a new and deeply personal chapter in Ivan’s musical journey.

The album brings together a collection of songs that reflect different moments, emotions, and experiences, including the already popular singles “(Let’s Get) High on Love”, “Picture on the Wall”, and the newly released “Show Me How to Love You”, which has been very well received. Limited CD and vinyl editions will also be available in the coming weeks.

Victory Street is the street where Ivan grew up and which gives the album its name. The songs capture a sense of nostalgia and reflection, while exploring friendships, growing up, and the passage of time.

The album also features collaborations with several local musicians, as well as a special contribution by renowned German guitarist, composer and producer Carl Carlton on the title track Victory Street. Carlton has worked with artists including Robert Palmer and has previously performed with Ivan at Pjazza Teatru Rjal.

“Victory Street is very personal to me. Growing up in Senglea, I remember the simple things — tea in a glass, picking on each other, having a laugh, but always being there for one another. That was the spirit of Senglea where we grew up. This album is about those memories, about friendships, love, growing up, and the passage of time. It is about looking back with nostalgia, sometimes with longing, but also with gratitude, and learning to move forward while staying loyal to my roots. Senglea was… is unique, and this album is my way of capturing those emotions and sharing them through music.”

The album was recorded at Temple Studios, Railway Studios and Upper Room Studio, with production led by David Vella at Temple Studios, Matthew James at Upper Room Studio and Peter Borg at Railway Studios, who also contributed across instrumentation and production.

To mark the release, Ivan will host a special live concert on Friday 8 May 2026 at Sir Temi Zammit Hall, University of Malta, where the audience will experience the album performed live for the first time. Further details, including ticket information, will be announced shortly, with availability expected to be limited.

Victory Street represents not only a new chapter, but a continuation of Ivan Grech’s musical journey.
